Subject: Underwater radio/MP3 player
hi all;

Anyone have an underwater radio/MP3 player they really like. I keep finding very mixed reviews regarding the ones on Amazon.

Thanks in advance
Cindy

No experience with MP3 players specifically, however I just purchased the TomTom Spark Cardio Music sport watch (run, cycle, swim, activity tracking) that provides 3GB storage for music and is Bluetooth equipped for wireless headphones (Plantronics Backbeat Fit IP57 rated for water submersion to 3 meters over 30 minutes). Not sure what kind of underwater swimming you need the system to be rated for, but this is adequate for my purposes; with a swim cap over the headphones water exposure is minimized. As I just purchased the unit this week, im still testing it out and would be interested in feedback from others that have experience with water resistant players and/or headphones.

I have used a few different kinds over the years.  IMO stay away from the ones that are a "case" design.  Once the headphones go on those they're useless.  The last few years I have been using a waterproof iPod from Audioflood.  It has been great and still going strong.

swimp3 by finis is often suggested
sony has a unit I have seen suggested.
the waterproofed apple shuffle mentioned earlier is also popular

these are all just tidbits I have picked up during my travels here on BT

I have been a fan of the swimp3 for the last five or six years.  Sound quality is decent but what I really like is that they do not go into your ears but use sound conduction to resonant the music into your ear canal.  Down side is I only get about a year's use before they crap out.

I'm a dedicated Finis fan - this brand offers some great solutions at an affordable price. I've been using it for over 2 years now, and it works perfectly!

I have used a few over the last 5 years. At least 3 different types. 1 basic, then the sony expensive one. I finally settled on the Swimp3 by finnis. It has worked without a hitch since the day I got it.

I have used it between 1 and 7 times a week. Just remember to charge it at least once a month.
