Comments:

I had a pretty bad year last year due to illness and injury. The last time I ran the Bandera 100K was in 2009 and it took me close to 18 hours though at that time I wasn't really trying hard because I had a couple recent DNFs and I really felt like I just needed to finish something. I was hoping for a finish between 15 and 17 hours this time but I had no idea that I might get into the low 14s. I was completely blown away. The first lap was a bit of a struggle, I kept having trouble with my left knee and was having some difficulty with both the ascents and descents but I ended up coming in faster than expected. However, the second lap was like a miracle. It just seemed to get better and better. I think I did much better on my nutrition maybe. I think I actually ate less and drank more and took some electrolyte pills. Anyway, it was one of my best days at the races for sure.
What would you do differently?:
