Might be a long shot but here goes... I'll be spending a bit of time in Cincinnati for work and trying to assess training options. I'll probably be staying in the downtown area. I'm looking into gyms with good cardi equip (treadmill, lap pool, spin bikes) and then outside long run and ride courses as the weather gets nicer. Univ of Cinn looks interesting ... LA fitness looks good on paper but I've seen reviews where people say the pool is always closed. Willing to pay more for a decent pool and good equipment. THANKS

I've been an L.A. Fitness member for several years and have swam in their pools in several different states.  NEVER had a problem with pool being closed or even poorly maintained for that matter.

Well I did check out the local LA Fintess and the pool is indeed out of commish...and it appears as though it's been that way for quite a while. But pretty good running and bike opportunities in Cinn

Hyde Park Square, 10 AM on Sundays until it warms up, then 9 AM. Group ride heads out east into the country. They'll pick up riders along the way and after a bit it will get hard and they will drop you, bring a phone so you'll have a map handy.

If you're just looking for a place to ride solo, you can always head over to the trail that runs along the Miami river. It's a very long trail, you can spend all day out there. If you're downtown, running along the riverside should keep you interested for a while.

There is a group, Gears 4 Beers that rides out of Loveland, you can look them up as well.

That's about all I know, I just moved here a few months ago. Can't help with gyms and pools.

It's been almost 30 years since I've been there. I just remember it being really hilly. There was about a 5 mile loop around the old airport. They used to charge for running there. I think there's about a 25 foot dip in the trail but it's been so long I can't remember.

Wow--That was a blast from the past! I grew up in Oxford, about 30 or 40 miles from Cinci. There used to be a 10K race every March around Lunken Airport. As I recall it was pretty much pancake flat and boring as h.... It may well have been my first 10K. Can't believe they charge people to run there! If you want hills, you could look up the route for the Cincinnati Heart Mini Marathon 15K, if it still exists. It starts/finishes downtown and ran along the bluffs above the river--a very tough course.

Can't help with swimming or biking--your best bet for an indoor pool would probably be a day pass to a YMCA or similar. We often competed there for HS swimming but all the pools I recall were part of a high school or university and not sure what would be open to the public.

I travel quite a bit for work and have found this website very helpful for finding somewhere to swim.  I have used it in about 5 cities and found the information to be very accurate.
