Total Time = 35m 23s
Overall Rank = 259/328
Age Group = 35-39
Age Group Rank = 13/18
Pre-race routine:

Up to register at 0700, then back home for breakfast.
Left at 0820, parked at my brother-in-law's dental office (which is about a 1/2 mile from race) and walked from there.
Event warmup:

Kept walking around parking lot - stretching - trying to keep Sam from taking my gum - a few running laps also
Run
  • 35m 23s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 11m 23s  min/mile
Comments:

Felt really good! Left leg was fine. Concentrated on posture and keeping Sam from going off to run with people ahead of me. Really, she did great and got lots of attention & love from everyone.
Sprinted at the end!
What would you do differently?:

Would have worn long sleeves.
Didn't know the time - would have liked to start my 'sprint' sooner, so I could have gotten under 35.
Post race
Warm down:

Kept walking and did some stretching. Dog couldn't go inside, so we hung out and cheered for everyone else coming in.

Event comments:

Ended up walking/running home (about a mile) as the dog was soaking wet and I didn't want to deal with cleaning up the van. Got a little chilly with the heavier rain and wind!

Course: Awesome. The inclines felt really good for me - not too steep. I just pulled my visor down low so I could only see 2 feet of road in front of me. Fortunately, there were many volunteers posted on the course so I didn't get run over.

Wow! Awesome job on a rainy and cold day. You're inspiring me to keep on training with my running. Wish I could run with my Mocha. He is a bit small though and gets underfoot a lot and would get trampled in a race.....he has to fend for himself even in a funwalk situation!

Keep up the great work!

Another great race for you!    I'm glad your leg felt ok. The dog must be lovin' all the running!
