Pre-race routine:

Not good...got up late and was super tired and sleepy

Breakfast: Dunkin' Donut Wheat begal with veggie cream cheese, diet pepsi, orange juice.

Event warmup:

Stood around in the rain and wind with other TT'ers.

Comments:

This was the most frustrating swim I've ever done. Got stuck behind people who I couldn't pass but would stand up on occasion to walk and talk....

I wore my wetsuit and it was well worth it. That water was COOOLLLDDD!!!!

It was great to hear Colleen and Dee cheer for me after I got out of the water. I couldn't help but smile when I heard them :) Reminded me this was supposed to be fun.
What would you do differently?:

Start closer to the front of the pack.

Comments:

Also a frustrating T1. Wetsuit would NOT come off of my heels. Sat on the ground, pulled, straightened, pulled some more but nothing seemed to work. Saw one person after another after another get to T1 after me and leave before me....very very frustrating. I didn't want to make it a race, I just wanted to have fun, but I couldn't help my frustrating.

Helmet didn't fit. I let my dad borrow it and I never readjusted it to fit me again. This pretty put the icing on the cake of my T1 frustration...
What would you do differently?:

Test drive my bike (and helmet) before the race.
Use body glide on my ankles.

Comments:

Wind? a little bit of everything. we had some strong wind, head wind, and cross-wind. At times it rained really hard and at others not so much.
Road surface: smooth for the most part, rough in some areas.

My front break became loose and started rubbing against my wheel...annoying and frustrating.

Felt out of shape and not prepared for this leg of the race at all. Not surprised, though, since I have not ridden my bike seriously for about 2 months now...I felt it and it showed.
What would you do differently?:

Make sure bike is in good mechanical condition (duh!) and ride more.

Hey Iz, great to see you yesterday.

You know, I too was cheering for you when you came out of the water yesterday...I even enlisted some of the people around me to cheer through their megaphone things and use their blowhorn. I'm a little disappointed you didn't give me props in your race report . Just messin' with you .

Sorry about all the frustrations you encountered during T1. I hope you still enjoyed yourself. It was a fun race to watch.

Good job, I had trouble passing people in the swim and I also fought with my wetsuit. It was difficult to do anything at top speed in that weather.  Glad to hear you had fun!!
