Subject: Training Peaks Training Plan Question
Hi guys,

Planning my second full season of racing, targeting an Olympic in August. Last summer I did a full race schedule, I did a 12 week plan a friend gave me and felt pretty bad on the run. With a little more planning this year, I'm hoping to find a 16 week plan. I found a pretty decent looking one on Training Peaks. My first question is what if I have more questions?! Do I get to ask the person who wrote the plan what things mean? Are all the terms and abbreviations usually explained in the plan?

I have a 12 week plan on paper that I like, and my second option would be to just repeat the middle month to make it a 16 week plan. I had a paper plan last summer too. But I liked the idea of having it digitally and being able to upload workouts to match the plan this time around.

Just curious what I'm actually getting by buying a plan through TP. I'm not looking for personalized coaching and all that, but I don't want to spend money on a plan and then be completely lost when I see it all and not be able to do anything about it.

Thanks in advance!

Using a high-volume schedule for many months is not the best tactic. Build speed and skill several months out, and then transition to a high-volume IM plan.
