Pre-race routine:

Had a banana, Cliff bar, orange juice and small coffee at the hotel before Dad and I headed jogged the 1/2 mile to America the Beautiful Park.
Event warmup:

Short jog and some stretching.

Comments:

Dad and I ran the whole thing together, so it was definitely a good Father/Son outing. He's pretty quick for an old guy :) and I think we both pushed and pulled eachother equal amounts. There were a few times where we realized that one of us was slowing down or speeding up so the other one was good about keeping us near our pace.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing.
Post race
Warm down:

Grabbed a water and one of those cold green tea things from Nestea which was great. Took off my shoes walked around in the grass and then stretched a bit.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Training - I could have trained more specifically for this race, but I really just wanted to enjoy my training and the race. Both goals accomplished so I have nothing to complain about. I trained and raced exactly how I wanted

Event comments:

This was a really fun race. People were friendly, the course was well marked and the pasta dinner the night before was pretty good too. The highlight of the pasta dinner was hearing from Matt Carpenter (winner of this year's Leadville Marathon AND the Leadville 100).

Looks like you guys had no problem in beating your goal time of under 2 hours. Definitely helps running those things with a good pacing partner too. Glad you had a good time at home and running with your dad.
