So, let's try to take off our partisan glasses and put on our tinfoil hats for a moment:

*Putin owns the largest oil company in Russia.
*He made a 500 Billion dollar deal with the CEO of Exxon Mobil.
*Sanctions put in place by the Obama administration prevented the deal from going through.
*Supposedly, Mitch MConnell was aware in September of the CIA's concerns that Russia was trying to influence the election but said nothing.
*Mitch McConnell's wife was picked for Trump's cabinet.
*The CEO of Exxon is now the frontrunner for Secretary of State.

I'm just saying...

Honestly, the further we get into this the more I'm thinking the "Russia is our enemy" crowd have been lying to us for a long time.  I know Russia has done bad things, but guess what we've done a lot of bad things provoking them as well.  Do we have a moral high ground because we meddle in their border states for our own interests, or do they have a moral high ground because they meddle with their border states for their own interests?

The "big war" industry needs wars in order to stay in business and keep the profits up.  Politicians will always have a bad guy for us to use as an excuse to spend trillions of dollars on even more weapons systems.

The old war monger politicians are the ones stoking the Russian fires.  The new guard is saying back the F off.  It's becoming more and more clear that Obama and Hillary were driving us to armed conflict with the Russians.  It's becoming more and more clear that Trump does not want that.

I'm not sure of the chances of it getting all the way through, but you have to be careful what you wish for.

Another interesting stat I saw yesterday.  Hillary is ahead in the popular vote by 2M nationally, but she won California (where anybody can vote without an ID) by 4M votes.  That means in the other 49 states she lost the popular vote by 2M votes.

you can't just subtract one of the largest states because they voted the other way man...she won the popular vote, which doesn't matter, but c'mon just admit that.

Ok, I admit it....she won the popular vote.

BWAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!

(one more week, I promise I'll stop in one more week )

Enemy?

When I was a growing up the USSR was our enemy. We were in a cold war with them and there was an arms race. We heard terrible stories about the KGB and labor camps and what terrible people they were......

Fast forward thru the 80s and 90s.......

In 2009 my wife, daughter, son and I got off a Disney cruise ship in St Petersburg. We spent the next two day touring St Petersburg and destroying every vision and stereotype I ever had of the Russians. They were people....just like us. They dressed as nicely as they could afford, they drove the best cars they could afford or they rode the bus. Our tour guide spoke Russian and English and few more languages and was in college getting an education. Our bus drivers were cordial and the people there laughed and talked and walked about just like any big city in the US.

When I think of Russia I think of the Hermitage with 3 million pieces of art. I think of Peteroff Palace that was built to resemble Versailles. I think of the beautiful Catherine's palace and the Church of the Spilt Blood with its colorful onion domes. But mostly I think of all the people there trying to make a life for themselves and their families.

Maybe the Russians are our enemy.....but I don't think so.

Yes, they processed the art but it was kept in warehouses and not seen by anyone. Many of the churches were boarded up or used to store grain or beets and other produce. The places were in various states of ruin and day. Not sure what your point is about the art.

RE the invasion of Crimea. It's not exactly like Russia picked some random sovereign country and invaded. I don't claim to understand the invasion but it looked to me about 1/2 of Crimea wanted to be annexed back into Russia.

Then again, the British, Spaniards, French, et al invaded the American Indian territory and just took over. That wasn't enough so we took part of Mexico too.

So far I am really liking what I've seen from Trump. I think he is methodically selecting the best people he can and has a good mix of military, politicians and businessmen. He is doing exactly what I would expect businessman to do when starting up or taking over a major corporation.

He needs to turn off the twitter and let his surrogates send out the twitters. If he wants to slam the CIA, send it to his press secretary and let them vet the message.....that is what you hired them to do. Their job is to make you always look good...let them do their job!

The way this election was going I had a thought this morning that more Clinton voters would probably end up changing versus Trump ones.  I recall in Oregon (I think) where several were raging against her for screwing over Bernie and vowed to go faithless, but that was well before the election so I didn't know if they were still doing that.

Too funny

Hillary had more faithless electors than anyone since 1912

Four Washington electors, pledged for Democrats Hillary Clinton and Tim Kaine, instead cast their ballots for non-candidates, with three electors voting for Colin Powell and one elector voting for Faith Spotted Eagle.[12] As a result, Colin Powell became the first individual to receive electoral votes from electors of the opposite party. On the vice presidential line, these four electors voted for Elizabeth WarrenMaria CantwellSusan Collins, and Winona LaDuke. One elector from Hawaii cast their ballot for Bernie Sanders for President and Elizabeth Warren for Vice President. Two additional electors, one in Maine and one in Minnesota, cast ballots for Bernie Sanders (with Tulsi Gabbard receiving the Minnesota elector's vice presidential vote) but had their votes invalidated and cast as Clinton/Kaine votes. In addition, two Trump-pledged electors in Texas voted for Ron Paul and John Kasich for president. Kasich also received the vote of a faithless elector in Colorado, which was invalidated.

The true irony is that her campaign to convince Trumps electors to hate him and vote for her was just like her presidential campaign.  She forgot to shore up her own electors while going after Trumps.

I know I posted the Simpsons video that foretold Trump running for the Presidency, but here's some other fun "prophesy stuff" for you.

With the defections counted in Trump has a 77 electoral vote margin.  He'll be 70 years, 7 months, and 7 days old on inauguration day.  hmmm

Blame me. I won't vote for another democratic (used to vote straight party) but won't until they realize why they lost. I also can't vote republican so really do not know who I will vote for in 2 years.

That was a smart move on the part of the electors in my state (choosing Colin Powell) because on the tiny chance that the vote went to the House of Representatives, they choose from the top 3 in electoral vote count.  There's no way the republican house would be voting for Hillary or Bernie.
