OK, at the risk of sounding like the newb I am, just bought a Trek SC with 60/90 Flo wheels. What do you carry for flats? 2 tubes, one set up with a valve extender and another with just 80mm valve stems, or just one tube with a valve extender and the extension tool?

The simplest solution is to just use the least common denominator.  Meaning that if you carry two tubes, both of them are capable of fitting the 90 rear.  It's always easier to have an extra long extender even if you don't need it than to try and extend a valve that isn't already long enough on the side of the road.

If you flat twice in one ride, the chances are it will be the same wheel because you didn't fix the original problem such as something stuck in your tire, faulty rim tape, or improper installation when changing the first flat.  Very rarely do I get a flat on one wheel, then a second flat on the other wheel within the same ride.

I have the same FLO setup. I do what Jason suggests...........carry 1 with the extender for the 90. I can use it on the 60 in a pinch.

The extra amount of valve sticking out, won't be bad for the tube?

I have no idea. It would only be to get me back to civilization, anyway (where I could remove the extender, if necessary).

What's the alternative?

If you are a fitness exerciser, you are unlikely to need extra electrolytes to replace those lost in sweat. If you exercise hard for more than four hours in the heat, replacment may be needed.

My back wheel needs to be trued up. It has a slight side-to-side wobble, and I feel at times like I'm going to lose control when I ride. Is this something that I should only trust to my LBS to do?

The wheels are my first area of concern and I have started to shop around. I find it nauseating to think of spending the same amount for wheels as my bike. Any help?
