Subject: 2012 Felt B16 Tire Rub
I have been running 2012 Reynolds Strikes for a few years and have no issues with the brakes however today i just put a pair of Reynolds Attacks on the bike and they are slightly wider and require me to adjust the rear brakes to get the wheels installed. As a result, I cannot get the stock brakes to be functional, if i get them to a width that works for the pads to have a slight gap to the brake surfaces then the outer diameter of the tire is rubbing against the brake arm. The wheel is fully located in the horizontal drop outs, the only way to stop the tire rubbing against the brake arm is to pull the wheel towards the back of the bike and lock the QR but we that will no doubt not last a ride and TBH is a but if a kludge rather than a fix.

Any ideas what i can do to fix this?

1.) Try adding a washer as a spacer between the brake caliper and the pad to give the tire more clearance. This may not work if the caliper is as wide as it can go.

2.) Check with your Felt dealer. Others may have had the same problem, or the shop may have been given technical documents from Felt.

3.) Use the Reynolds Strikes. Save the Reynolds Attacks for a new bike with proper clearance.
