Since I am new to all of this what would you all consider a lot of elevation for a bike course when it comes to an olympic distance race. I was looking at the HITS Hudson Valley olympic distance and was thinking of maybe doing it as my first olympic distance race but the bike course seems to have about 1900 ft of elevation. Im not the strongest on the bike hahaha.

Certainly not a flat course by any means. I don't know the course, but long continuous climbs are definitely different than lots of rollers. And the maximum steepness and duration of the climbing is also a serious consideration. So it really depends on what you are comfortable with. I'd suggest seeing if you can mimick something similar where you live and see how you feel.

If you get comfortable doing hills between now and then it's no big deal. Many triathletes don't like hills so it may even help you out compared to others.

My problem is I can only swim about 30-40 meters without having to rest. What is the best way to improve this? I need to get from 40 to 750 meters in 6 months.
