Comments:

Started off at a totally easy/relaxed pace. Wasn't sure how it would go since I had pretty bad hip pain leading up to it, but felt great and perfect weather.
Ended up running with 2 other guys and we were just cruising. But then one peeled off to use the bathroom and one split to do half course, so all the sudden I was all alone.
I decided I was going to push hard and catch the 3:10 pace group. Even if it would kill me, I would get to them, tag up and then I was free to ease off if I wanted. It turns out it took me 8-10 miles to catch them as I could only claw back 10-15 seconds per mile. Even though I could see them they were out of reach.
Luckily I caught them just in time to use them to block some serious headwinds and to be able to ease up even 10seconds per mile to stay with them rather than chase them down made all the difference.
I was able to recover and the pacer gave us tons of energy. By 24 I was feeling great and decided to go on ahead. One of my best ever runs.

Great race with a fast course and small race feel.

I just finished the NYC marathon on Sunday and I think I'm going to venture into triathlons. I am doing an Olympic distance and I want to do a 70.3 next year too. Any advice?
