Pre-race routine:

Up at 4:30am, cereal breakfast w/ coffee. Watched F1 qualifying at Monza until 6, then off to the event by 6:15.

Event warmup:

Jogged around staging area, stretched a little. Remembered to bring my mp3 unit, got that set up.

Comments:

Must better start this time. Started close to the front of the pack and stayed there. First mile was a little too quick, but then I settled into a good pace. Passed a few people around the 2 mile mark then picked off a couple more at the finish line.

What would you do differently?:

Nothing except train harder!

Warm down:

Water and a banana with some good stretching.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

I pretty much maxed this race. Didn't have much left at the finish. Gotta train harder and lose a few extra pounds.

Event comments:

Was a great, well organized event. ~500 people showed up for the whole run/walk. Lots of volunteers helping out and plenty of refreshments.
