Tugaloo Oly in north Georgia. This race has been my A race the last 3 years. For some reason this year, I'm not quite as fired up about it. Maybe it's that pesky HIM that I have coming up next weekend.

The Beast - 2006-09-14 12:41 AM Alcatraz Swim, if that counts........

Sure that counts! It's a helluva swim from what I've heard.

I've only been in the Bay once, and that was accidental, while sailing. Would love to race there someday, and didn't realize that the Escape was so late in the season.

Wonder if I could get in for it in 2007??

There are actually several Alcatraz events. The one this weekend is the Alcatraz Sharkfest Swim (swim only). In about a month, there is the Escape from the Rock (I'm registered for this one. There are still spots open too if you're interested in doing it this year - http://www.envirosports.com/events/displayevent.php?eventid=1588 which is similar to the Accenture Escape from Alcatraz which is the big one that occurs mid-year. The Escape from the Rock event can also be done as a swim only, but that's already sold out.

In response to the OP, race for me this weekend is Pleasanton Tri For Real.

not racing but i'm doing the lowlander century ride this saturday in the Finger Lakes. Weather looks good and i'm looking forward to it. It will be challenging with lots of hills. A good prep for IMLP 07 or at least a preview. Good luck to everybody.

Last Tri of the year Duxbury sprint....weather looks like rain...what's new as it has been a raining race season all year.

I may do another sprint Sunday if I feel like it...short & just for kicks...will decide this weekend.

Sad & happy the race season is coming to a close.

Triathlon de Montreal ~ Olympique.  (Holla to Opus, who is racing this also!)  It is set to be sunny and low 70's - perfecto!  Crit style bike course should be interesting, as will the swim - in a Olympic rowing basin, 9 feet deep!  I've been sick, so I'm not expecting miracle times; just going to have fun with it - the last tri of the season.

I'm doing the Kirland Tri on Lake Washington.

Funny I was just writing out my race plan. So far I have:
The Swim: Go like a bat out of hell!!!!!!
The Bike: Go balls to the wall!!!!!!!!
The Run: Haulin !!!

Seriously I fee ready to race. I'm shooting for a PB. That won't be bringing home metal, but it will make me happy. Sub 1:25 would be nice.

Well, we might be going down to Lynchburg, VA to visit my wife's alma mater and they are having the BB&T 10 and 4 miler races.

I'm not up to racing 10 miles, but I'll give the 4 miler a shot if we go ...... should be able to place top 10 in it.

Have a great race this weekend, Larry!

I'll be doing the citizens sprint at the Best of the US race on Saturday. 0.5 / 15 / 3. I did this same course back in June, so I know I can do it, but I'm nervous anyway. Last tri of the year!

If you just omit the word "RACING"....
I will be "doing" the Inaugural Disneyland 1/2 Marathon in costume with a Pirates of the Caribbean theme along with 2 swarthy comrades.
One has a slightly injured foot and the other hasn't run since the Disney World 1/2 Marathon, thus we are going to hobble together and attempt to remain within the 16 minute mile requirement while laughing hysterically and probably drinking...

Me, too! Well, I'll be doing this event but not wearing a POTC costume! Good luck to you and have a great time!!!
