What would you do differently?: wear a tri top to keep my race shorts from catching water on each wall pushoff Transition 1
Bike
Comments: I hammered the bike and stayed aero for the whole 16km. I felt muscles being used for the first time ever thanks to Colin's NKT. Transition 2
Run
Comments: My legs just flew out on the run and I had to walk for a few seconds just to slow myself down. It was a blast to have a big finish for the monstrous 3k run. Post race
Warm down: I was thrilled that my body worked well and I'm back. What limited your ability to perform faster: I only had to fight my cardio and that's were you want to be Event comments: Post-race food was an awesome smorgasbord put on by the swim club and it was great to hear of all the improvements that had been paid for by this race over it 30yrs history. Thank you to the Perth Stingrays and all the kind athletes who made this a wonderful day of sports and fun. Last updated: 2017-06-05 12:00 AM

This was my 1st tri in 6yrs and Phil's first so we were as nervous as new brides and arrived an hour before start. We were the 1st people there; even before the organizers! There were only 4 homemade bike racks so we had primo setup. Phil was not interested in a warmup so I introduced him around to the old dynasty of Denis Morel, Rick Hellard, Dev Paul and anyone who wanted to talk. Everyone was happy, friendly and definitely not in race-mode. Coach Hellard was kind, even though someone took his spot while he was out for his bike warmup and he had laid out his stuff and hung his shirt on the bar. On deck, Kris Plant set the tone with her "have fun and no rules" instructions.
