So the company I work for has just released an updated set of "company perks", which include 40% off Diamondback products, including bikes. I see that they're probably not a big player in the triathlon world, but with that kind of a discount, should I take a look? I'd definitely go to a local bike shop and test ride on, just to be safe, but do they have the quality of the bigger brands such as Specialized and such?

From what I've seen they are OK, a definite step up from what you get at wallyworld. But don't think you're going to get a Cervelo for that kind of price - nowhere near that quality. An online tri-club i subscribe to also has 40% off for DB bikes.

Diamondback has a number of pros riding their bikes.  At 40% off it would certainly be worth a VERY close look.

Diamondback really came back to the high end market a few years ago. Before then, they concentrated on mid market and lower price market. At 40% off, you can get a really nice bike for very reasonable money.

For road bikes, look at the Podium Vitesse. A really solid build at a very reasonable price (and with your 40% off it's a steal!)

For tri bikes, look no further than the Andean. Funky looking, but it's built for pure speed.

Thanks for the feedback guys! I was planning to save up and buy a nice road bike, hopefully next year, so we'll see what happens.

Sheesh...at 40% off, you could probably go into business....buy a couple of those Andeans...show up at some tris with em...slap some For Sale stickers on them and make enough cash to buy one for yourself.

I just posted today my DB Gravel bike which I bought for 38% off of 2016 prices when they were new to the market.  I would have loved the extra $300 if I had a 40% discount off of the 2017 pricing (lowered $500 from 2016).   Not sure about the RB's but in the one day of having the Haanjo Carbon Comp and riding it around I couldn't be more pleased.

Note the frame sizing if you go the DB route.  The Haanjo Medium is listed as a 53cm and was stated to be for up to 5'9".  But more I looked at the stand over height and the top tube length the M ended up a perfect fit for me at 5'10 and a longish torso.

I would, even if I were limited to buying two bikes!
