Thanks Kim!! I can't wait to get out and ride even more now!!!

No training today - rest day, and it's a very welcome rest day, too. I'm changing tomorrow's run workout to a bike ride in order to get a feel for my Look pedals again. I rode a bit around our cul-de-sac last night after getting the pedals swapped out, and I forgot how "slippery" the Looks are when trying to get clipped in. I feel like I'm always having to flip them back over (right side up). Granted, I haven't used Looks in a long time, so it's just getting used to them again. I use a dual sided platform / SPD on my mountain bike, which I absolutely love because I can use either side to get up to speed and then clip in at my leisure. I may swap out my mountain bike pedals for platforms and drop the Looks off completely.

Belated happy hump day. It was my last truly hard effort before my race next week.

18:15 - brick bike, 45', with last 15' at goal pace

19:00 - brick run, 20', first 10' at goal, 10' cool down

I'm tired!

Back at work, too, as of Tuesday, so no more sleeping in! Lots of meetings, a little time in my classroom. Kids start next Wednesday--yikes! So much to do, so little time. Feel like I really haven't had any vacation--our only trip was only 6 days and involved a HIM, house hunting and contract; and the rest of the summer was mostly spent (outside of swim/bike/run time) going through stuff and packing boxes.

5:30 AM: 1:20 trainer ride from hell. Lots of hard intervals. At least it woke me up!
4:30 PM: Easy 20-minute run (supposed to be a brick, but wasn't for various reasons); interrupted by about 10 minutes of torrential rain.
