SRAM S80 Broken spoke

Depends...if it's the front wheel, I might check to make sure the wheel is still true and there's no brake rub. If it's the rear wheel, I'd probably repair it before going for a 20-mile ride. I believe the S80 has 18/20 spokes which is not a lot so each missing spoke will have a more significant impact on keeping the wheel true than the 32 spoke wheels from years ago.

I weigh 160lbs as a frame of reference...if I weighed 200lbs I would definitely replace the spoke before riding. Most likely you'll experience brake rub but there's a chance the uneven tension could break other spokes or worst case damage your wheel and cause you to crash.

Would not ride that wheel... you might make a minor truing into a major one.

I've finished a ride on a broken spoke rather than call for a sag but would never consider going out with one. You might make it, but why risk it, one bump and blah. The S80's came with the bike? You don't have a second set of rims lying around?

Thought about that. The wheels that came in my bike are buried In the back of a storage unit.

I'm not going to ride. Not really worth the risk right now.

Should be able to get the wheel fixed when the bike shop opens on Tuesday.
