Hi all,
A couple weeks ago, I was in a Sprint Tri and had a lot of trouble getting my wetsuit off. There were a lot of great suggestions to help.
This last weekend, I stumbled onto something that might be of interest. If you want to put something on your calves and heels that really helps you get out of the wetsuit-it is hair conditioner.
I'll spare the long story of how this happened (mistook for suncscreen-I was tired, it was morning) BUT-after it happened, I tried it on purpose the next day. WOW!
The key is put it on, and let it completely dry. Then put on wetsuit. I used bags on my feet to help slip it on. After a 400-500 yard swim, I came right out of the suit. When that stuff dries, and then gets wet, it is super slippery.
One note: I did not do any research on the ingredients, so the only concern I have is whether it is harmful at all for the suit?? But, it sure works.

I've never tried hair conditioner, but -

Pretty much all the folks doing FAST wetsuit T1 transitions use some sort of lubricant on their body (and especially the calves) to greatly assist speed of wetsuit removal.

Things that work well and are proven at races:

- Bodyglide (roll-on)

-Trislide (spray)

-Olive Oil  (Before bodyglide/trislide, olive oil was a def go-to lubricant. You can even get them in spray form now!)

that's funny how you found out.

I use some roll-on body glide and that works nicely but I'll remember that if I ever run out-- or forget it-- could be a good idea to have a little bottle of conditionner (the ones you get from hotels) in the bag at all times, just in case....

I'm not a wetsuit expert but make sure the conditioner ingredients are compatible with neoprene and other wetsuit materials.

I tend to use Glide as well. Works fine and is more or less waterproof.
