Subject: RE: What did you train today? Saturday 11//4 I think Kim (the usual thread starter ) is with her athletes at the state XC meet today. Good luck, Kim!
I worked water.
AM: 1:15 pool run with 12 X 3 minutes hard/2 minutes easy. I did touch the bottom on the easy parts. Guess that is progress.
Noon-ish: 3800m of swimming.
I usually don't do that long a swim workout (usually 3000-3200m ), but weather was very weird (we were right at the edge of a tropical storm system; "cold" temps for here, gusting winds and spitting rain ) so I cancelled plans to go downtown and did the longer version of the workout just for kicks.
Had the pool to myself except for one of our senior swim team girls, who had booked it for a photo shoot--she did it in a long black formal, on the starting blocks and, at the end, she dove in and got some more pics while swimming (in the dress! ) and then dripping wet! She and her dad kindly let me do my workout in the opposite lane of the pool. It was good entertainment between sets!
Altogether 2 hours and 21 minutes moving around/across a pool. I think if there was a World Pool-running Championships this point, I would podium. I have really gotten the technique down and, seriously, can pool-run faster than some triathletes can swim! Edited by Hot Runner 2017-11-04 6:24 PM
