Okay, looking at a bike workout coming up.

1x6' on 5' rest
3' @ 100 rpm
2' @ 110 rpm
1' @ 120 rpm

Does the 6' first mentioned refer to the 3', 2' and 1' blocks?
If so when does the 5' rest happen? Just recover for 5' after the three rpm speed ups?

Does the 5' rest come between the 3', 2', and 1'?

Hmmm....This would be my guess without context:

The 6 minutes is all one interval, with cadence gradually building--3 minutes @100 RPM, 2 minutes @ 110 RPM, and 1 minute @ 120 RPM. Then 5 minutes rest. (You'd definitely need it at that point!) 110-120 RPM is some pretty fast spinning. I would keep gearing pretty light, especially with your history of knee issues. This will really work the cardio system.

Thanks, I didn't see them as all one thing, one right after another.

Yup, use the small ring up front.

"Yup, use the small ring up front."

I'll admit it, I always do.
