Thanks Don! I didn't realize the spreadsheet was having calculation problems. Who created it?

Hi Roland
I created the spreadsheet. Or at least I modified an earlier version to get the current format.
There's a formula that calculates how many days we are into the current year. E.g. Wed March 14 is day #73 of 2018. Sometimes it seems that someone is manually overwriting the calculated value with an incorrect value.

It's easy to fix and I'll keep an eye on it. If your distance ahead/behind the pace bunny suddenly seems quite different than what you expect, this is likely the cause.

Cheers
Don

Good luck in L.A. this weekend Roland!

Shoot, I'm behind the pace bunny again. It turned cold here and I've been doing more strength training so less running. I better get back to it because have a HM weekend soon with a friend.

I finished the race! It was a very challenging day for me. I thought I regained my fitness but the 3 week block I got in was insufficient. Gonna recover and continue running! My race report:

You're ahead of the pace rabbit Don. Excellent! I'm starting run more consistently now and I should be on par by the end of this month.

How's everyone else in this challenge doing?

Hi Roland
Nice to hear that you're able to run more consistently now.

I had a comfortable lead on the pace rabbit and then I was sick for the better part of a week, so I slid back a bit. Now I'm starting to build my lead a bit more, but my plantar fasciitis is acting up.

I'm going to be stubborn and push through it until I run a race on May 27, and then I'll see how I'm feeling and decide whether I need to stop running for a while.
Don

PF has improved a bit and leveled off. It's still there but it doesn't really bother me. Sometimes being stubborn can turn out okay. I'm racing 5 km on May 27 and then I have a 15 km trail race on June 9 that I'm really looking forward to.

Hi Roland
Thanks for asking. My time was 22:47. I was hoping to be a little faster, but I was first out of 28 in my age group (M55-59).
My run today put me over 100 miles in one month for the first time since 2015. And my PF is barely noticeable.
So for now, things are pretty good.

Are you training for any events?
Don

Wow, that's super fast man! What kind of speed work are you doing?

I have Ironman 70.3 Santa Cruz in September and a local Olympic triathlon in late July as a primer for that.

Hi Roland
I haven't been following any plans. As I got closer to race day I did some interval work, but probably not as much as I should have. My go to workouts are: hill repeats; 400m intervals; 5 min race pace (ish) repeats with 2 min rest.

I did a hilly 15.5 km trail race yesterday - a fun, tough race. It was quite hilly so pacing was tricky and I was happy with how I paced it.

Hi all!  Haven't checked in for awhile.  Logged by km today on the spreadsheet and was surprised to see I was ahead of the pace bunny.  I HAVE increased my mileage lately, but it seemed unlikely.  So I went looking through my logs and apparently I ran 226km at IM Santa Rosa!  Made that change and I am back behind the bunny .  Keep on keeping on everyone!

Did you really run ~140 miles in less than 17 hours at IMSR? hehehe

How are all you guys doing in your challenge for 1000?

Running is my go to, so I generally don't have an issue with this goal. I might be at 1500ytd.

Keep on trucking,

Steve

Hi Steve,

Holding steady though I'm a bit behind right now. I finished a 70.3 last weekend so I'm taking some time off. I have a good feeling I'm gonna make it though.

Thanks,
Roland

18 miles to go. I expect to reach 1000 in three more runs.
There's snow in the mountains! I've managed to get out cross country skiing a couple of times.

Nice work surpassing your previous best Roland. Don't overdo it trying to reach 1000 miles if it's not in the cards.

You're gonna make it Don!

It's gonna be really close for me. I'm striving to maintain good health so I can make it and continue on for another 1000 in 2019. I'm thinking about signing up for IMAZ for a 3rd attempt to have a good day there.
