Reportedly Mark Wahlberg was paid $1.5 million for reshooting scenes, while Michelle William's was paid $1,000. We haven't heard from either Wahlberg or Williams, as far as I can tell. Seems like a big deal, but couldn't this be explained pretty easily?

Due to the reason for the reshoot (getting rid of Kevin Spacey scenes) isn't it totally reasonable that William's volunteered while Wahlberg required to get paid? Maybe Wahlberg was already busy with another project, and he had new expenses which he required he be reimbursed for.

I've liked Mark Wahlberg in several movies, and I don't want him to get caught up in this crap and not able to make another one.

This is really cool.  I was just telling my wife the other day, "Woman, what we need is some more chit for those whiny little pukes in Hollywood to cry about"....and here it is.

I met Mark once in New Orleans.  He said "sup" and nodded at me.  I feel we're very close.

LOL

I once read that the reason women are paid less is because they are willing to work for less. Nothing wrong with low-balling potential employees. If they agree that is their problem if they don’t make as much as someone else

In the 1950s my dad left college because Sikorsky was hiring in CT. Dad said there was a question on the application that asked what is the least you’d work for. Dad, being from Louisiana, wrote what he thought was a good wage. The HR person saw it and laughed and said, “We have to pay you more than that.” Dad said it was 2 years before he caught up to guys to the guys who left that question blank.

Yeah, it really is simple economics.  We choose to work for what we get paid.  If I'm only making $10/hr then it's not my employers fault.  It's my fault for taking a job for $10/hr.  If I can't find a job making more than $10/hr and it's my only option then guess what?  It's my fault because I haven't built a skillset that's worth more than $10/hr to anybody in the market.  It's not rocket science.

Same thing with women and men in the market.  Any production outfit can offer Marky Mark $1000 to do anything and he'll simply laugh at them because he knows he can get much more money from many other places.  If you're an unknown actor or actress and come in demanding $1000 they won't pay it if there's 100 other unknown actors willing to do a gig for $500.  When you posted this I'd never heard of Michelle Williams so I assumed she was an unknown.  Most definitely not a Marky Mark level name so there's no way she should command Marky Mark money IMHO.

My daughter recently took a job at Whataburger to earn some money during Christmas break. She answered the wage question with what she wanted and they are now paying her 3 bucks an hour more than the other entry level employees. I advised her to never , ever discuss wages with her co-workers!

What a bunch of fake outrage.....This is pretty simple. The actress said she was thrilled the director would re-shoot the scenes and because of that she was willing to work for free and give her time, even over Thanksgiving. Wahlberg did not feel the same way. Therefore, I do not know why people are outraged, each did what they wanted to do.

I think part of the 'problem' the women have is they have a shorter shelf life and subsequently a higher turn-over. If the script calls for a 'hot chick' the casting director is not looking for a 'seasoned actress'.
