Subject: 1.19.18 Friday!!!

Good morning BT!  Happy Friday!

4:30am:  35 min recovery run

5:00am:  lower body strength + core + stretching

Preparing for a big weekend of hiking/running.  Temperatures are going to drop so it'll be chillier than we've had. We've been so spoiled with such a mild winter.

Good work this week guys...we're putting in the time!

Today is a bs state holiday in Texas, so I have the day off. Took my 2 year old in for her annual check up, dropped her off for school, then headed to the gym.

9:30 - 5’ Run on treadmill
9:35 - 1 hr strength. Leg day after yesterday’s FTP test was, surprisingly, not terrible.

5:00am: 11.3 miles for the run this morning. 

It is warming up here.  We got down to +2 deg F this week for over night lows (and morning runs) but today it was back up in the 20's.  We should see some overnight lows in the 30's and possibly even the 40's over the next week.  I only had to run on the treadmill once this week so life is pretty good.

Tried to post earlier but having issues with some overseas sites including BT.

1:20 trainer ride. Supposed to be some repeats in high Z2 with short big-gear surges in Z3-4. Only from the get-go I had an epic power meter fail. Basically Z2 effort was getting me Z1 power (and not high Z1 either), and I could only get to Z 3-4 with all out pedaling in a big gear. Watts 50-70 below what would make sense based on heart rate and effort. Didn't feel sick or exhausted (legs a bit tired from Wednesday's FTP test, but not THAT tired!) so gave up and just did the workout by HR and effort.

Anyway, replaced battery on Saturday and now the numbers make a lot more sense.

I joked with my coach that maybe the meter was off for the test and my FTP is actually 250+, not 196. Doubt it.
