1.28.17 Sunday Funday Runday

Not going to hit 50 here today, but nearing 40 is pretty good for us in January. I am heading out in a few to try to get an hour on the bike. If I am not frozen, I'd like to make it a brick workout by adding a mile or so run.

345pm: 1 hour MTB ride. Technical climb to develop bike handling skills and high cadence. Zones 3 and 4. The descent was a race against the clock with a storm closing in.

Easy 4 mile run this evening in the rain.

Hoping this community can motivate me to stay on track with my fitness this year. I’m new to triathlon so I need all the help I can get!

Not Funday. I will be dropping off the BT radar for a while. My dad passed away suddenly last night around midnight (I think late Sunday morning Idaho time). The flights connecting to US all leave here early AM and at that hour I couldn't get sub, tickets and pet care squared away in time to make a flight Monday AM here, so heading back tomorrow.

Besides that, sweaty 3:30 trainer ride from hell Sunday AM (Saturday PM in the US) for a race (Challenge Wanaka in NZ on Feb. 17) I'm no longer doing. I am losing track of the races I have trained for that don't turn out.

Mom wants to come back to Vietnam with me after the Tet holidays end Feb. 20. Trying to work that out.
