This was posted on my strava group... probably self evident or even old news to a lot of people..but damn... Downloading your garmin will give away your location...which could be secret...

I can't find the link right now, but I read an article a couple of years ago about thieves using stravata and other gps tracking apps to find houses to rob. Idea being longer/faster rides equal higher end bikes, which equals wealthier homes. Add that to the ability to use historical data to figure out patterns about ride timing and average length.
