Good morning BT!  The day got away from me yesterday and  I forgot to start us off for the weekend!

So...Saturday--two 60 minute runs, one at 9:30 and one at 5:00pm.

Today:  heading out for a two hour hike, looking forward to it.

Steve, how did your long ride go yesterday?

Have a great day!  We'll have more of it to enjoy with the time change!

Saturday I fitted a pair of aerobars to my roadbike and did a quick adjustment of my position to suit them. I need to spend a bit of time doing a better fit but I thought I'd give them a try Sunday morning.

I found the aerobars a little awkward ay first. I was a bit wobbly with the narrow arm position but quickly got used to it. It was measurably faster even with just the quick fit I had done. Looking forward to honing the position further.

Unfortunately my ride was soured by some lowlife who had spread thumbtacks all over the shoulder of the road. I picked up two flats and there were 6 or so other riders I saw who suffered the same fate.

515am: 42km 1:41 ride with a 40min threshold effort high HRZ4 to low HRZ5.

Grrr....Sometimes the bike repair places here (and in China, and presumably other places) will do that to drum up business.

No tacks here as was on the trainer. 2:17 of mostly Z2 effort with some big-gear pickups. I think that was way easier than the rest of the day, which included hauling two cats (Big Boy is 17 pounds) to the vet (shots for one plus consulting about export procedures), taxi driver getting lost en route (Alley 41 of the wrong street in the wrong neighborhood on the wrong side of the freeway from the Alley 41 where the vet is!), and having to get a locksmith when a door got stuck locked when we shut it while rounding up the cats. (I didn't even know it locked, had never locked the interior doors of the apt., and was given no keys for them. )

Now to "rest up" with 4 days herding the kiddos at a national park.

Nothing yesterday except helping the wife put together a couples shower (who invented those anyway).

Got in some pull ups and calf strengthening exercises and a 4.25 mile run on the treadmill. Finished it up with a sub 6 minute mile last 2/10’s of a mile. Feeling a little stronger.
