Hi All,

Looking at an entry-level sleeved wetsuit that won't break the bank. I live in Texas where wetsuits aren't as common in tri season. However, I do a pair of open water swim races every year that are wetsuit legal (early april and late october) along with a tri or two before water temps climb up into the non-wetsuit range...

See the list of options below, any of them stand out? Anything I should be looking for at this low end?

60% off for BT members on Xterra. Hard to beat for entry level wetsuits. Full or sleeveless starting at $99 US.

Promotion is another good one for under $200.

Thanks guys. Any way to differentiate between these low end wetsuits other than aesthetics?

I second Xterra. I have had a sleeveless since 2010. I've put fingernails into it, minor tears and still no issues.
Upgraded to the entry level full sleeve last year and love it still.

You might check warranties, thickness, seam style, and other options do differentiate from other brands. Some have better return policies than others if you guessed the wrong size, it arrives damaged or you damaged it.

I'm also in the market for an entry level wetsuit. Doing my first Tri at the end of May in Long Island, NY. From my limited research it seems that many of the entry level suits are 3/2 (?). Is that still suitable, thickness-wise, for water temps which are 55degress +/-?
Thanks
-Chris
