I'd say at least 50% of 140.6 riders are on tri bikes, and probably a good 30% of those are aero wheels and aero helmet as well. Are you looking for rationale to buy a tri-bike? My only HIM, I rode an old road bike with clip-on aero bars to a 20+ mph bike split. "Old" as in 30-year-old bike with 6-speed downtube friction shifters old. I have a more modern road bike and an old tri-bike. I've put 5000-6000 miles on each in the last 12 years. They're almost interchangeable for me, and neither is the limiter of my race performance. |
