Would this be a good beginner bike? I have no idea what Iā€™m looking for. 5ā€™7ā€ 165 lbs.

Can i say "it depends"? It is an off-brand bike with a kickstand... How newbie are you? If you are looking to do your first triathlon, then really any bike will do. It seems like this bike would fit you, but a lot more goes into bike fitting then just your height and weight. I would bet for a couple hundred dollars more that you could get a lightly used bike that has a more recognizable name brand (without a kickstand) and better components (not all shimano are created equal) that would be faster and more reliable. But I don't know what your budget is...

As always, I would recommend getting a bike fit first, but it isn't cheap and I did not do that for my first bike, although I ended up buying another bike just two years later that fit me better.
