I really hope to cut a lot of time off of last year's result. I did virtually no training in the month leading up to the race last year, and I had a Masters swim meet the day before (which due to the lack of training my times were considerably off there too ). This year my training is better, considering how poor the weather has been, but still not like the training leading up to the races towards the end of the season. I assume most of the participants are in the same boat though.
This evening is Masters swim practice. In the past, Wednesdays have been sprint day, but we are in a new cycle now that the big meet is behind us. Coach did say she was going to have us concentrate more on strokes this season (and we did do an IM set on Monday ).
I think the rest of the week will just be my usual morning routine of my plank, pushups, and sit ups. I hope to go out on a short bike ride with my daughter on Friday or Saturday just to make sure her and her bike are ready for the race.
