Hey y'all, woke up to this message:

The current water temperature at the Rumpus race site is 49F degrees. At this point if the water temp does not get above 51F by 7am race morning we will cancel the swim and have a time trial start on the bike. If the temperature gets to 52F or above we will shorten the swim to 1K for the Olympic and 500 meters for the Sprint on Sunday. If we do have the swim wetsuits will be mandatory (full or sleeveless will be accepted).

My race is sunday. I don't have booties or fancy caps.  I'm gonna double cap it, but any other suggestions for the swim?

Make sure all the seals are snug. You want a layer of water in between you and the wetsuit to act as an insulator.

Warm up before and time it so that you don't cool down before you get into the water.

Some people put vasoline on exposed skin. I've tried it. I think it helps a bit.

Pee in your wetsuit when you get in.
