Good morning BT!  What a whirlwind weekend I had!

Sat:  Race to Robie Creek.  Goal was to finish in under 3 hours (this is a really tough 1/2 marathon) and finished in 2:48.  Felt great through the whole thing, loved every minute of it--even Temptation Station at the summit where they hand out shots of tequila, Rice Krispie treats, and cheese balls. I declined all the treats however!

Sun:  because training for the 50K continues...8 mile 'recovery' run--actually felt great.  I ran along the Greenbelt in Boise, this amazing path that runs along the river.

Today:  :20 minute run + strength.  Legs are feeling sore but still pretty springy!

Have a great day all!

Wow--congratulations! I would've taken the Rice Krispie treats, though.

Is that event near Boise? Assuming it is and that's why you're there?! Too bad I'm not home yet or we could have met up. Have enjoyed running along the Greenbelt in the past but since my parents moved in September and I didn't get home till winter, I haven't actually run it since then.

Here, just 3000m worth of swimming. Have been dealing with some sinus issues since last Wednesday and have yet to work out if it's cold or allergies--it doesn't seem to really get worse, or completely better. Ugh.

Congrats on smashing that goal Kim!

We (my 12 yo daughter and I) did our first tri of the season yesterday. She stayed pretty flat on her time from last year; I think she gained 30 seconds on a 40 minute race (300m swim, 3 mile bike, mile run). Not too shabby considering she hadn't been on her bike this year until the Saturday before the race. We rode 5+ miles that day to make sure everything was in good working order, including the rider.

My time from last year was pretty horrible. I had been working a ton of overtime with no days off for the month leading up to the race, so there wasn't much training going on. This year training was much better which resulted in an 18 minute drop. I dropped time in all three disciplines, and in T1 (T2 stayed about the same). I'm still towards the back of the pack, but a lot closer to the middle than I was

Tonight is swimming with the Masters club. I think it is stroke night, so that ought to be fun. Coach is changing things up a bit now that we aren't concentrating so much on the recent state meet any more.

Have a great day,

Sounds like a great time; way to go, Kim!

11:40 - easy 1,000 yards. This is the first of a two week taper for me. I'm doing my first century on May 5. It will either be fun or terrible, depending on the direction of the wind. So, likely, terrible. But, it finishes at a brewery where there will be BBQ and beer aplenty!

Have a great day and week, BT.
