Subject: Bike
New to the sport. Have a schwinn world sport in excellent condition. Could i use this to start.

Yep. You see all kinds of bikes at sprint and Olympic distance races. Like most people, I raced my first year or two on a road bike similar to yours. Make sure you have bar end plugs on your handlebars ... the refs will not let you race if you don't.

People will tend to step up to Tri bikes after they've been in the sport for a while...you'll go faster on a well-fitted Tri bike.

You bet. Be sure to put air in the tires. You're good to go.
