Pre-race routine:

Ate a PB&J and headed to the race site. I parked in my office building which was about 1/2 mile away.
Event warmup:

Walked 1/2 mile to the race start and stretched.
Run
  • 1h 05m 2s
  • 6.21 miles
  • 10m 28s  min/mile
Comments:

I ran without stopping for the first 5K and walked the two water stations on the second lap. I was very pleased with the run especially since I had never before run more than 4 miles at one time.
What would you do differently?:

Train more. Pay more attention to the time. I could have started my kick a little earlier and finished in under 1:05.
Post race
Warm down:

Walked for a few minutes and ate a granola bar.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Lack of training. I'm still just getting started running and this was my first race ever.

Event comments:

This was a race for charity put on by the Four Seasons. They had a very nice spread and good entertainment. I do not have much to compare it to but I was very pleased overall.
