Good morning BT!  Some great training going on this week!

4:30am: 1:45 run.  Parkland--I do the same with my treadmill.  However, I'm inside in the basement in a room with no vents so it get hot and humid in there.  I don't use the fans at all--I really think training like that has helped me deal with the heat I'm known to race in.  The 50K I have coming up is in southern Utah--chances are it'll be 90 degrees +.  It's a dry heat though--I love it.

6:15am:  series of burpees/pushups/shoulder press/core work

Karen...I'll be reading your report today!

Keep up the good work friends!

Nice pic Jamie!  I love seeing pics of runs!

Good morning!

5:40 - 50' run, with 30' at an up-tempo pace. It felt pretty decent, although I've developed a blister at the base (!) of my big toe. Haven't had a blister in a really long time. Weird stuff.

Have a good day, BT!

Sheer sloth and laziness today except for riding herd on kids and walking about a mile each way to dinner. Was going to swim but things got busy after school and by the time I was free, I was too hungry. Not sure if this happens to other people but for about a week after a HIM, I get ravenous every few hours and simply can't function unless I eat again! Plus I sleep really well at night. I think it is just my body's way of recovering or something.

My training plans has changed drastically this week.  I am scrambling to figure out schedules, new drills, etc.  So this morning was I did two of my four segments.  Cycling 60 minutes, running 30 minutes.  This afternoon I did the other two segments 20 minutes cores exercised, and 15 minutes strength exercises.

Life was much simpler when I just did a 15 mile run in the morning rather than doing four different segment with 5-6 drills each in the core and strength segments.  :-

The repetition of running was very dull and uneventful though.  I will stick with Triathlon.  :-)

52 minute trainer ride this afternoon. Able to push the gears a little harder the last week or so. I was able to get the bike out on Saturday morning for a ride and could definitely tell that all the trainer sessions have helped.
