Comments: started off at about a 10 min mile pace felt pretty good following a couple of ponytails :) at about 2 kms I decided to drop them and push the pace. Set my garmin to auto lap each km and beep every 10 minutes. Only had gatorade in the fuel belt so I had to wait until I hit the aid station to take my gel at 30 minutes. Even though I haven't done much, ok any, hill training I passed quite a few people going up. Finished the first loop in just a hair over 30 minutes but my legs were feeling it from the hills. On the second loop I was running mostly alone with a couple of women ahead of me about 100 yards. Based on my last training run I knew I had at about a 1/2 mile final kick in me so at the 9km mark I really pushed. Passed one of the women at the bottom of the downhill and passed the second a 1/4 mile later. I can't believe I held an 8 min mile pace for a full km :) I was only 3 minutes short of 3rd place in ag :) What would you do differently?: Hill training other than that nothing can't complain about another PR :) :) :) ![]() Post race
Warm down: got an ice cream and water and waited for awards and raffle to start What limited your ability to perform faster: my weight no hill training Event comments: Goodie bag at this race was sweet 2 full bags of food worth probably 50-60 bucks. Last updated: 2006-07-08 12:00 AM

got up around 6 had clif bar and gatorade and headed out.
Nothing really watched a couple of triathletes in the lake doing an open water swim wishing I had brought my swimsuit and wetsuit with me for after :( I really need to get a warmup routine maybe bring my bike to races and ride the course before :)
