Subject: 6.14.18 Thrusday Training

Good morning BT!

Enjoying a little breakfast on the porch before heading out for a 2.5-3 hour trail run. Last long run before my 30K next Saturday.  After that the focus will be primarily on strength--I have a few more trail races in August.  Feels good to have a new focus, bit of a change in training, although my trainer is killing me, lol!

Good Afternoon BT!

5:30 AM - 10 mile run.  My last run switched my targets zones from Heart Rate to Pace.  They way they were calculated I get to run about 10-20 sec/mile slower with pace than heart rate.  After the run by pace I felt like I had a really good work out so I decided to work off pace again today.  I had two miles that were a few seconds over the target range and two miles that were just under the target range.  I had some stomach issues about half way through but worked through them and had a great run.

I did get in a 2200 yard swim yesterday afternoon.  :-)  We will see what I have time for today.

7 weeks to IM Boulder 70.3.  Its crunch time.

Easy 1,000 yards in the pool. I mixed in a bunch of drills with a few sets of just easy stuff.

Just an easy recovery 60minute outdoor run today. Nothin special..just getting some km's in here. A light bike ride for 40mnutes tonight when the sun isn't out and so punishing...ugh.

Enjoy your trail run! Yesterday was Thursday here--one hour run with about 20 minutes of tempo pickups. Very hot and humid--my legs felt good, but thought I was going to puke by the end of it. I won't miss training in that stuff.

Friday morning here now and we are leaving for the airport in about an hour. No training today as EVERYTHING is packed, except the cats. They are hunkered down under the sofa cover, snarling at us as we have blocked off all access to their favorite hiding places. Praying that people and cats make it intact to Seattle. Then a long drive back to Boise on Saturday. Ugh!
