Run
Comments: fun run with friends and people in the community, good training run in a beautiful location for a good cause. everyone talks about Terry Fox and how he inspired them with his Marathon of Hope. Great story on the website. If a cancer survivor can run a marathon a day and make it part way across the Country before succumbing there are no limits to what we can accomplish What would you do differently?: next year Owen Sound's 150th anniversary get more pledges. how about $150 per kilometre Post race
Warm down: have water and an apple, avoided the free cake, pedal fell off the bike, oh well it was a great day What limited your ability to perform faster: not applicable it was for fun Event comments: every runner across Canada should do the Terry Fox run in their local community. last year i was training and ran by the crowds in the race. its obvious why not meet the people in your community for a fantastic cause. many will be surprised to learn you do triathlon or race. a fun and inspirational day. up early, road the old mountain bike down to Harrison Park. beautiful park in southern part of the City. very inspirational as five local cancer survivors including two young kids taking treatment for leukemia start the race
the bike ride is the warm up, takes about 15 minutes, but bike is old and the right pedal wonky, arrived early walked the bird pens first time in 5 plus years when kids were little, the salmon aren't running yet, lots of friends and aquaintences either walk or bike the race which is 5 or 10 k. it really is a fun run
