Subject: Gear shifters
Hi! I’m new and sorry for the dumb question but I have clip on aero bars and I want to be able to shift gears whilst in the aero position (bar end shifters) but can u have shifters on the aero bars whilst keeping my ordinary shifts on the hoods ASWELL? I have a suitable 105 groupset (10).

Thanks!

That's not a dumb question.  No such thing!

Yes you can have shifters in multiple locations, however not with the groupset you have.  You'd need to upgrade to an electronic shifting system such as Shimano Di2.  Before you get too excited - be aware, some might consider it an expensive upgrade.

Here's a bit more information - http://carltonbale.com/shimano-di2-everything-you-need-to-know/

That link references Shimano.  There are other electronic shifting systems available from other manufacturers.

It kind of works... there's definitely a compromise in the shifting quality.

For good shifting in both aero and on the brakes, Di2 is the way to go.
