Subject: New Di2 Shifters advice/confusion
Good day everyone,
I've found that new generation of Shimano Di2 only have 1 button on each point, one button for extensions blips is fine, but on breaks there is now 1 button instead of old two.
How do you guys (who uses Di2) use this kind of setups? is bike configure fully Synchroshift, is there a risk of chain drop when you are not controlling FD (i.e. switching under load, switching uphill). Or do you configure extensions for RD and brakes for FD only?
Or its just better to get older generation with 2 buttons on each sides of brake leavers ?

Thank you

No experience with actual usage but the new single button di2 shifters only control the RD. They are meant for synchro shift mode meaning it will shift the FD for you. You can't control the FD "directly" via the single button shifters.

You can get the 2 button shifters. The single button shifters are designed for full synchro shift, which basically will shift the front and rear derailleur to the next gear ratio up or down (depending on if you push the right or left single button). Personally, I hate synchro shift... feels awkward and doesn't like my non-round chain rings.
