Pre-race routine:

Drove to Budapest and ate lunch at the Westend (two chicken paninis)

Event warmup:

Ran for 10 min and did a lot of active stretching

Did ok although was hoping for 3:45 pace average

What would you do differently?:

Get there the day before the race instead of driving there a few hours before the race

Couldn't run as my feet were buuuuurnin'

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Almost threw up after taking a gel without water

Event comments:

This is my new 10k PR as the previous one was in Bend on a downhill course. This is the first time I break 40 minutes on a flat course so quite happy with that. Proves that my training was solid this year. Didn't have the perfect race I wanted to have but this is actually good so I can improve in a couple of years!
