I currently ride a 2010 Quintana Roo Tequilo. Aluminum alloy. 52cm size. What is a good carbon upgrade that will not break the bank! Thanks all!

I would talk to one of these folks first (about your fit)...they would be able to give you the brands and sizes that you could investigate.

If it’s a good fit for you, the cervelo P3 is hard to beat. Even the older P3C frames are quite fast even compared to the expensive “super bikes”. You could find a frame for 500-800 and swap components....if it’s a good fit.

There was a wind tunnel test done a couple years ago and the Felt B series was the baseline bike they used. The difference in time over 112 miles between the "superbikes" and the Felt B series was something like 4 minutes. I ride a Felt B14 (Carbon frame/fork) and it's a great bike. I bought it in 2015 brand new for $1,995. At the time the Cervelo P2 was $2,400 and had 105 components where the Felt had Ultegra.

Current MSRP for a Felt B14 is just over $2,000

Compare your current bikes Stack and Reach dimensions and see if the B series lines up as you want to make sure the bike fits properly.

I echo what someone else has said... if you want to drop the money into a new bike try and get a good fit first. A good fitter will be able to use your stack and reach coordinates to determine which bikes are the best fit for you. From there just pick whichever one looks the coolest. If you look good, you'll feel good, and that will make you fast!

Someone else pointed out the crowd-funded wind tunnel study from a couple of years back. I actually kicked in a few $$$ for that as I love to geek out on bike data. The results were surprising. At the end of the day the most important thing is to find something that is comfortable and doesn't break the bank... the engine is still the most important part of the equation.
