Subject: Acosta Acosted petite woman at WH
So Acosta starts pontificating at the WH press briefing and Trump tries to move on to the next questioner.
The girl whose job it is to take the mic and pass it to the next reporter tries to get the mic.
Acosta uses a body turn maneuver and his free arm to block her from reaching the mic.
CNN defends Acosta.
WH pulls Acosta's WH press pass.

My analysis. Acosta asked a question and Trump answered it. Accosted was not happy with the answer and starts to speechify!

My first thought was the a/v guy at the controls should have just killed his mic. Second thought was Trump should have motioned to the SS to remove him. Last thought was the girl that tried to take his mic should have been more aggressive. Jump on his back and attempt to wrestle him to the ground as he whiles around trying to get her off his back as he continues to ramble into the mic. Then she start pulling his hair as he screams.....

On a more serious note....I am 6'3" and 300 lbs. If it was my job to take the mic and he used the body/arm maneuver on me it would not have ended well. I'd of gotten the mic! The reason he was able to do this is because the person was a petite female who did not persist in getting the mic.

So I'm thinking they need to reassigning that girl to a different job and hiring an MMA bouncer-type to that position. Someone starts making a political speech instead of asking questions he goes over, take the mic and body-slams the reporter. Then does a Dusty Roads on them while they are on the mat.

(if you got the Dusty Roads comment, you are older than dirt)

Step 1:  Cut the mic.
Step 2:  Ask the offender to respect his/her fellow journalists.
Step 3:  Ask the offender to leave the premises.
Step 4:  Escort offender out of the conference in handcuffs.
Step 5:  File trespassing charges.

No, the intern nor any other staffer should commit violence upon the offender.

I'm pretty sure that one instance of all 5 steps will stop further offenders at step 1 or 2.

When President Trump stepped away from the podium, huffing a bit, Acosta immediately gave up the mic.  It's a great moment.....like, what's about to happen here???....the President and the goofy reporter are about to throw down??  HAHAHAHA!!! I would be joining RBG at the ER for the ribs I would have broke from falling down laughing.

1. Tell speaker they are done, pass the mic

if they refuse

2. Tazor the speaker

I think the optics of this was bad for Acosta and for CNN even through CNN is 'standing behind Acosta'. I think most journalists, even if they won't admit it, don't want this sort of negative attention on their new organization. This sort of Jerry Springer stuff does not reflect well on journalism.

You know....it's funny. I had these thoughts after I read McFuzz's post about no violence....and I get it.....but.  All my life I've been in mostly male environments away from home....where I am surrounded by women, mostly.  All boys HS, Marine Corps, Cop.  I wouldn't even want to venture a guess at how many punches I've seen thrown, in nearly 50 years in those environs, or all the reasons they get thrown.  It hasn't even changed that much, although the world sure has....there are still plenty of punches thrown or shoving matches.  The funny part is that nobody talks about it outside of the walls where it happens....and it usually ends up settling whatever the problem is (until the next problem and participants show up LOL ).

I've enjoyed and thrived in those environments and I wish we could all find a way to be more like that......life's pretty simple that way.

Plenty of places where the situation is quickly resolved as you say IN PRIVATE (or only pseudo-public).

Had things gone the other way, Acosta could claim assault and it would all be on tape.

CNN calls for a boycott. LOL I agree, CNN should boycott! It will drive up Fox's rating and hurt their own ratings. Drudge and Briebart and Politico and 2 dozen other websites would gladly webcast the briefing. Even people who don't like Trump listen to the briefings.

I think this analyst forgot CNN is in business to make money! They are not in business to save the world from tyrannical dictators. They are not in business to make sure we have an informed electorate. They are in business to make money!

Yeah, and he would, because he's a candy arse .  That's where we all went sideways.......too many of them.  It's not the cameras fault, or the being in public's fault.....it's all of our fault.  WE let this happen to us as a society...it's a damn shame.

Federal judge orders the WH to give Acosta back his WH press pass.

I have to admit, I am surprised. IMNSHO if you show your asz in public like he did, you deserve to be escorted to the door and invited to never come back.

It will be interesting to see what Trump does. Trump does not like to lose.

My suggestion:

1. Pull all media passes
2. Establish a set of rules for press conferences. e.g. Only one question and one follow-up. Do not yell question when someone else has the mic, no farding*
3. Violations of the rules will result in loss of press pass
4. Reissue all the passes and have each recipient sign a form stating the understand the terms and conditions....

Or, just blow it off, give Acosta back his pass and just never call on him again. I think Trump is incapable of blowing anything off.

* Rush Limbaugh told this story when asked what was the most controversial thing he'd ever said on the radio. He said he once made a statement, "The number one cause of car accidents in the US is woman farding in the car." He said 'fard' is an obscure word that means to apply make-up. He said the phone lines lit up! Women were calling in furious and saying things like, "What about men farting in the car?" and "Why would a woman farting in the car cause an accident?"

I knew this was not over! Trump can't stand to lose.

"CNN Requests New Hearing After White House Threatens to Revoke Jim Acosta’s Hard Pass Again"

"[The WH] sent Acosta a letter informing him of their preliminary decision to revoke his pass. They gave him until 5 p.m. on Sunday to respond, and wrote that they would issue a final determination by 3 p.m. on Monday. Their letter ostensibly was to establish a paper trail that would satisfy the judge’s concerns."

So the judge had ruled that Acosta had not been afforded 'due process'. When I read that I had to scratch my head. WTH is 'due process' for revoking a privilege? You come into my house and are rude and obnoxious I will ask you to leave in no uncertain terms. But ok, he is a reporter so I will play along. The due process is to send a letter telling the offending reporting that because of their inappropriate behavior, the are revoking their privilege. Should he wish to appeal, it can decided in a civil court before a judge.

Like sands thru the hourglass, so are the days of our lives*......

*Hey, when I was a kid we only had 3 channels (sometimes 4) and was home sick from school, the only thing on between about 12 and 3 was dumbasz soap operas!
