Subject: Knee Sleeve for Swim?
Has anyone used a Neoprene Open Patella Knee sleeve during the swim? I'm competing in a Sprint (half mile swim) and have a meniscus tear (right knee) I'm taking care of after the race in two weeks. I have used K Tape and seems to work well but with the swim I would like something more secure. Thoughts and thanks in advance...

Check with the race director. Some races will not allow knee sleeves, compression gear, etc.

Some cite safety and some cite the fact it may provide buoyancy and help your swim.

I would think they would allow it, but better ti make sure.

So if you are doing this race for yourself, like 99% of people who do triathlon do (and I'm not disparaging that), and you take care of your knee.......what does it matter?  

Take care of your knee and enjoy the race.....the rest is just stuff....who cares? 

It won't make a single difference in your life.... unless you don't do it....then you are just giving in to some arbitrary rule that may or may not be enforced depending the race.  Don't do that.  Wear the brace and take care of yourself.

And....as someone who has had 3 knee surgeries for meniscus tears.......enjoy, and good luck!!
