Subject: NYC Public Pool?

I'm going to be in NYC on business over the next week and am looking for a public pool for some lap swims.  The hotel I usually stay at, with a good pool, was booked.  Rockefeller Plaza is where the office is and my hotel is nearby.  Any pools convenient?

Thanks to all who posted a few months ago about running routes in Central Park  and the reference to the nyrr.org site.  It should help me plan some runs this weekend.

Asphalt Green has a pool, and I think it is located on 92 on the East side. (not sure what Ave but they do have a web site and a tri club). Also SBR trishop is on 58th btw 7th and B'dway has an endless pool. Ive only seen people in it a handful of times so Im sure if you go you will be able to swim. Riverbank state park could be another option. it is on 145th St and Riverside Dr (West side).

Sorry I am not more specific but they all have websites to check out.

Chelsea Piers has a really nice pool as well as a really awesome facilty.  I'm sure you can get a day pass but will be a bit pricier.

Also, there a bunch of NYC indoor pools which I think you can pay to get into.  Really cheap since its a city pool.  All the outdoor pools are closed.  Just scroll down to the indoor pool section, they just opened them this past Sunday.  Depending on the facility they have different lap times.  The one in Chelsea is pretty nice, it was just redone.

There is also Asphalt Green which charges $20 per swim.

Let me know if you need more info.

I second or third the Chelsea piers or asphalt green suggestions.

I work out at Chelsea piers and the pool is usually empty.

on the other hand if you wake up at an unGodly hour Asphalt green opens the pool to 50 meters which is very nice.
