Hi ,

My story begins in December 2016. I was told my marriage of 9 years was over. I had invested much of my 20's into my relationship.
I was not fit and suffered from minor body image issues.

I was very sad and low and needed to find something challenging to do. There was infidelity involved in the break up of my marriage, and my confidence was shot.

I came upon triathlon from the world of Mountain biking, which I was just beginning to foray into. I found training for any one sport boring. So I figured training for three would give me the variety I needed to stay focused.

I did my first sprint in Sep 2017. My training and the elation of completing my first triathlon provided me the much needed hope I desperately needed.

I needed something to prove to myself that I was a person worthy of self love.

Its been a tough journey these past two years, but a very rewarding one.

I have now done 4 triathlons. 1 sprint, 2 Olympic, and 1 somewhat midway between sprint and Olympic. I am slow in all the disciplines.
And had no background in any of them.

I have set out to do my first HIM in sept 2019. I am very excited and look forward to learning from other triathletes on this forum.

I am planning to join swim classes to help . I got myself a Wahoo Kickr last month. And I plan to start running for the season soon.

Nice to meet you all.

Sorry to hear about your marriage and good job on still investing in yourself during a challenging time! It definitely sounds like you are on the right track and the in-door bike setup will help a lot simply out of pure convenience of working out at home. I would definitely join a swimming class and possibly a running group or triathlon group if you can make it work with your schedule.

Best of luck to you on your journey and congrats again on setting a big goal for yourself this year, you will crush it!
