I had to do some research on this Alabama Ringworm health issue. I found this:

"Ringworm on the skin like athlete's foot and jock itch can be treated with non-prescription antifungal creams, lotions, or powders applied to the skin for 2 to 4 weeks."

I wonder if we have a people with jock itch without access to health care too? I have seen some young people who seem to hold their crotch a lot.....maybe they are just scratching because they can't afford some Gold Bond?

Having said that, I fundamentally agree with the sentiment, but I believe this a personal question that we should ask ourselves and not try to answer that question for someone else. Americans have a very high level of 'excess'.

On a personal note.....several years ago I had one of my engineers come into my office to tell me he was going to retire on his 55th birthday. I shook his hand and said that was my plan too! I asked him how he made the decision. He said he and his wife asked themselves, "When is enough, enough?"

I have enough....and I will retire soon.....if I don't AOC will accuse me of living excessively.

The day my twins make their college commencement walk is also my last day of work.  I'll be 61.....and trust me, enough is quite enough.  And the bonus is I'll still have 10 years before the world ends. LMAOOO

That's actually a pretty good milestone.....better than throwing a dart at a dart board. My planned retirement date was going to be Feb 21 of last year. That was my 55th BD. But.....I bought 4-wheeler....then I bought a (used) Corvette and decided I needed to work till I got that paid off.....when it was paid off I 'accidently' bought a bass boat (such a great deal, Nitro Z7 with 150 4 stroke with only 10 hrs on the motor)...so had to pay that off. So I reset my retirement date to be 20 Feb 2019...the day before my 56th birthday....then I could still claim I retired at 55....albeit for only one day. Well....then I bought this POS 1949 Dodge pickup rust-bucket for a post-retirement project....then I bought a pop-up camper.....ok, starting to see a pattern here? I figure I might as well get all my toys before I retire. My plan is to drag my boat and camper to the lake (with two trips) and live on the lake for a couple of weeks.....catching fish for my meals....bringing only grease to fry the fish, corn meal, some coffee....ok, maybe some bacon too. Anyway, I'm on the glide path again....thinking early spring. Might go vermin hunting Feb 2 so we don't have a prognosticating rodent giving us 6 more weeks of winter....

BTW, speaking of vermin hunting. A couple of weeks ago my son and I went vermin hunting. There was a pack of yotes howling in the woods all around our place. We had a vermin call but we never could call them up. My wife posted about all the howling on FB and it turns out it was (maybe still is) mating season for coyotes. IDK. We have horses, dogs and cats and if I can find them, I will kill them.

Our cat had ringworm a while back. We had to take it to a hoity-toity specialist veterinarian clinic in Alabama.

Hey, we can't even provide health care for the people in Alabama with ringworm....we don't need to be importing Texas cat ringworm strains!

I have always been amused by the people who think their days on earth, which doesn't even amount to a speck on a gnats arse in time, are somehow the most important days of our planet's history.  That truly takes a comical level of arrogance and stupidity.

My bet is the Earth can't wait to shed itself of humans and all of their bullchit.
