I looking for recommendations/ideas on where too look for getting my first tri wet suit. I am average build (5'-11", 155 lbs), poor swimmer, and would like to find something sub $200. If I stick with this I would happily upgrade in the future, but for now I am just dipping my toes (and possibly more into this sport. Thanks in Advance!

I don't have a recommendation for you - I'm a newbie. But, I am a successful bargain shopper. I'd recommend finding a brand / model / size or two to target, and then skim ebay, craigslist, OfferUp, and Letgo for deals. There are plenty of people who had triathlon dreams, or did one and got out, that are selling good stuff cheap.

This is especially good if you plan to upgrade in the future anyway. You get something good for low investment. I got a nice deal on a wetsuit on OfferUp that was shipped from Seattle. It was virtually brand new. Also got a great deal on a Cannondale road bike via craigslist.

Of course "buyer beware" applies, as always.

I've been really happy with the three suits that I have gotten from ProMotion, a company based in Hood River, Oregon. Good quality and durability, and they are very easy to work with on product and size inquiries, exchanges, etc. Have a look at their website. They should have plenty of choices in your price range. I currently have the AfterBurner, one of their higher-end models (but currently under $200 for last year's model; close to $100 for cheaper sleeveless suits) and have also owned two of a discontinued model (a sleeveless shortie that I use for races and training in conditions that are marginally wetsuit legal). Do make sure you are looking at the triathlon page of their website--they also sell suits for windsurfing and other water sports, and these are constructed differently from triathlon wetsuits.
