I grew up in Utah, and May 10th meant that my mom was coming to take me and my sibling out of school to go watch the reenactment of the driving of the Golden Spike at Promontory Point to complete the first transcontinental railroad in the USA.

Later, I worked with Latino church congregations is the San Fransico, California area and learned that May 10th is the fixed date for mothers day in Mexico. So while we are celebrating with the mothers in our life on Sunday they are already celebrating in Mexico today.

I had some friends get married on May 10th and one of my cousins was married on the 10th too.  I also remember AP tests in Highschool being on the 10th.

So... to commemorate one of the most wonderful days on the calendar I did a 60-minute work out on the bike trainer this morning at 5:45 AM.

The weather is going to be perfect for many of you today.  Yesterday was just a tad too early in the year and tomorrow will be a hair too late in the year.

Have a great day BT.

May 10th is a busy day it sounds like.

I got hit with a bit of sickness the past few days. Guess it was my bodies way of telling me to take it easy for a while after my last race.

I did get out the road bike and ride it around the neighborhood with the boys, so I’ve got that going for me which is nice.

No special date here but it was a beautiful warm sunny day in Idaho. No bike trainer here today. I am cutting back to 4-5 days a week from six now that I am running again. (Or maybe should say "running", or jogging.)

1700 yards of swimming this morning. I actually hit the speedy mark of 2 minutes/100m. Of course that is with fins, and is about 10-15 seconds/100 off my normal "easy" pace without them. But for 1 1/2 working arms, I guess it is not bad. It would be much better if I could get back a few more degrees of extension--my stroke is really lopsided right now. Strength is coming back but still felt sore from weights in PT yesterday.

32 minutes of running around a big park this afternoon. (8 x 4 minutes run/1 minute walk). Quads only registered minor complaints, so hopefully they are getting used to the concept of running again. Will try to build to 35-40 minutes total next week.

Rain, rain, rain, in my little shire in New Hampshire. Today was an optional workout/rest day, I opted for 40 mins easy spin on the trainer, all my time in Zone 2.
